For those who wonder what moneybookers charges and want to know how to reduce fees, read The oDesk Guide to Moneybookers

so it’s official Moneybookers takes anywhere between 3% – 7% per transaction… also keep your moneybookers account in USD !!! otherwise Moneybookers charges your currency conversion twice, once for the deposit and once for the withdrawal

Also it seems you can’t change your moneybookers currency once you’ve created an account. And you can’t have multiple moneybookers account either – otherwise they’ll terminate all of them… I wonder if closing the account and then reopening a new one with the same details will work hmmm.

Seems like an appropriate thread for this question: U.S. authors, anyone know how much gets taken as a fee for an international money transfer?

my no.1 tip for moneybookers is don`t use it. They take a huge cut especially if you go from usd to gbp. Also they refuse to guarantee anything over 1k.

I use PayPal. But, I just created a moneybookers account. Because, only MB sends money to SWIFT for Turkey not PayPal. I want to increase bank account limit:)

I’ve done the wire transfer once – I saved about 5% by cutting out the middleman moneybookers …. but I did have my MM account set to rands not dollars so that was part of the problem.
