Why are comments all of a sudden being policed? I just made a comment on a landing page theme and not even 5 minutes go by and the comment has been flagged. The author sent me an email asking why I deleted the comment… I never flagged or deleted the comment. Not sure what is going no here but it seems a bit weird that a lot of my comments are instantly flagged.

Could be a childish member/buyer/author, who knows. Some people can be so “cut-throat” that it borders on the ridiculous.

It wasn’t the author because he sent me an email message through my profile page and provided the preview link which was the main aspect of the message. Here’s the thing, if the author didn’t see the comment before it was flagged, he would have never seen I wanted to see the live preview so that I could make a better buying decision. Flagging comments that could help increase an authors revenue flow is bad business practice.

Yeah, while there’s no way to stop people from reporting inappropriately (unless the system is entirely rethought), it’d definitely be nice if at least the author could still read and respond to the comment (while it remains hidden from the general public), in the case where a legitimate comment has been wrongly flagged.

And sometimes people just hit “Flag” instead of reply by mistake.

there should be a dialog asking the user if he actually wants to report a comment or not
