I hope someone can help. A couple of my theme buyers recently are having a big issue with the Theme Options screen. First, visually, it’s a mess… the CSS file that does the nice tabbed layout is not doing it’s job. It’s as if there is no CSS at all. The CSS file does exist, but when you navigate directly to the CSS file, there is a “file not found” error.

Also, and most importantly, the settings don’t save when you click on the Save button. The page just refreshes, and not settings get saved.

This is so odd. I have thousands of successful installations, but 2 this week are having this odd problem. Does anyone know what could be the fix?

do they happen to have any plugins causing issues? how are you loading the scripts? have they cleared their cache? is it one browser or multiple browsers? are they having issues on any other admin pages?

Good idea with the plugins… i’ll have them disable any and also clear cache. This is in all browsers, and this is the only Admin screen with the issue. I’ll post back if plugins/cache was the problem. Thanks!

Hi,

you should check for reserved files names by the webserver. I had already a few customers where all files containing the word “cookie” were blocked by the server.

Hope that helps.

Had this exact problem the other day and not sure why but simply clicking the reload for the XML file will sort the issue out

Never happened before but it may be something to do with the new wp version on upgrade or something

Anyways that worked for us

@unitedthemes, thanks, I’ll keep that in mind. @jonathan, there isn’t a button to reload XML . I’m sure i have a different Theme Options backend than you.

also make sure there not on the same host/its a configuration issue… likelihood(from what you described) its how you called the scripts, a plugin, or something their servers(a mod/etc)

The problem is solved, thanks to my theme buyer figuring it out. My theme folder had a space in it. Via FTP he dragged the folder to the wp-content/themes/ directory. The space in the theme folder name caused the problem. He removed the space, and then re-activated the theme, and voila! :) I find it hard to believe so few of my buyers have had this problem.
