I seriously want one of these but they stopped making them due to high demand they cost over $2000. Do you guys have any idea on how to make one?
http://youtu.be/mS8eipuXYWgAfter watching this video I was quite astonished! I have never seen that before. The sound is really amazing and I understand that you want to have one! Well, to me it seems to be a further development of a steeldrum / steelpan. The sound reminds at once of a steelpan. Just because of the fact that good steelpans are quite expensive I would guess that a person who can manufacture steelpans would charge you at least $1000 for a similar instrument! I don’t think that an unskilled person could manufacture something like this, because you will need a lot of experience with metal, tuning and manufacturing of instruments.
So great sound, its not fake??
Yeah It’s real but the makers don’t want to make them available for everyone, only a selects few. So i’m thinking of hiring a music expert and metal expert to help me make allot of these.
Of course it is not fake.
You guys need to check out “Hang Drum”. You can build one of these out of a propane tank. With the proper equipment, it is no big deal.
Oh by the way, there are a few manufacturers around the world who build these. Not only one.

The Hang Drum and its many variants are pretty common.
However, havokdesigns you’re probably thinking specifically of the drums by MILLTONE that are far less common and are hand-manufactured on an individual basis.
http://milltonedrums.wordpress.com/Tonehammer / 8Dio sampled one of them a couple of years back:
http://8dio.com/?btp_product=propaniumThe concept is identical to the hang drum but these drums have much less of a steel drum sound. Far more pure. GREAT for cinematic stuff. Additionally, MILLTONE ’s designs are absolutely amazing.
Also, they make AMAZING special birthday gifts / presents if you’re ever stuck for ideas for loved ones. They’re tuned in such a way that even an untrained monkey could play something nice on them.
