The aim here is to improve page load time, we certainly do not want to prevent authors from gathering their own web analytics. We have some ideas on how to solve this and we’ll be sure to let everyone know what we come up with before turning this on again.
I’m happy to hear that. A simple way to leave pixel tracking images unaffected is to introduce a special attribute inside img tag, for example rel=tracking, which authors would use inside their pixel tracking images, and the CMS would not cache the images marked this way. It might also check if they are sufficiently lightweight.
Is there any chance that we could also have a possibility to add a pixel tracking on sale confirmation page? Such feature would be a pure gold!
