Does anybody else feel a tap tempo function on the upload page would be useful? I don’t upload from the same computer I create songs from and rarely do I embed tempo information into the ID3 mp3 file. Regardless, I found a decent metronome online that seems to function properly if anybody finds it useful for tapping tempo!

Oh sweet! I always forget what tempo my tracks are when uploading and had to fire up kontakt to tap tempo. Thanks Joe. And yeah I agree a little tap tempo widget on the upload page would be great :)

I use this one if I find myself in a similar situation:

just hit the space bar along with the music and it tells you your average bpm

Good resources, thanks for sharing! Not sure we need to add them to the upload page however – either make a note of the BPM in your DAW , or set your preferences so the DAW bounces your .mp3 with the BPM inside the ID3 tags. The BPM will then be visible when you preview your mp3.

I make a point to upload my AJ preview tracks to my SoundCloud page as well, and they have a “Tap Tempo” feature in their player, so if I forget to note the BPM I just pop over and use that. Useful tool and extra marketing!
