I realy hate that Upload an item box… It mixes up with unread comments..

Get rid of the upload box. It doesn’t belong in the comments area. See:

Agree. But it’s a back-end thing for customers so they will not change it.

You’re not alone We’re part way through a lot of changes on the dashboard, will definitely take this feedback into consideration on the next bit.

That’s nice to hear. But can you give us some more info about it? What’s planned? Or at least ETA for (at least some) changes? What to expect and when?

Cool! First time I’ve seen a developer post on forums for ages. How about some of the other suggestions, are they going well? I really can’t wait to see some changes around here (no sarcasm).

For a graphic designer, alignments mean the world (at least it should). Other than that…i know nothing of web, but what about a dynamic box stage, where you could make your dashboard your true “home”! I can imagine a new thread..”show us your dash!”=p

I also belive that your items could give much more input, like showing some info that analytics have…pageviews (all time, maybe weak and today)...”like/apreciate buttons” to give more credit than just coments that sometimes are made out just of sympathy/friendship…).

All these ideas are repeated every day…this is just another one!=)

I can’t promise anything at this stage, but here’s where we’d like to head:

The work you guys have seen a few fragments of is toward vastly improving and simplifying the process of becoming an author. Part of that goal is making things like author dashboard available to all users — if you’re an author, it’ll work mostly like it used to (for now). If you’re not an author, it can help you become one.

This means the dashboard UI has to deal with a few more states and variations than it used to. Authors see an upload box, but others will see a different box, with varying height content. We tried that all in one place in the UI (shifting it to the left column above the comments), but we’ll explore alternatives for sure.

This work got interrupted in a weird spot (hence no promises), but I’d like to get back to it soon. There’s a broader vision of the dashboard, but I’m only just starting to research this and talk to authors, so it’s way way way too early to go into details.

Expect a Notes post in the next day or two from me on our current focus.
