Another invaluable tool I have found while working as a freelancer has been the book:

This book helped open my eyes to the subtle details of creating a professional business presence to compliment my work.

I think any effort as designers to learn more about the business end of things as well as tighten up the business aspect is a huge plus ++

Chapter 10 looks like it has some great info. It looks like an easy to read business book, not too technical but very informative.
