I guess it has been a reoccurring trend about AJ authors looking for collaborations from the VideoHive forums. I think the recent resurgence of these posts is that Tim McMorris (sometime recently somewhere…can’t find the thread) had shown the connection between the songs on the popular items page and their successful collaboration with VH projects. So of course, we go to VH and say (in a less direct way), “Look at me! Consider me! Me! Me!”

Turns out this is no new news, and VH authors just roll their eyes at it. Here’s a thread that recently resurfaced on VH forums, started about 5 months ago. Read the feedback from the VH authors. This may help explain some things on why you didn’t get a response.

Also, having a stick post encouraging AJ authors to liaise with VH authors doesn’t help matters! LOL I guess that post should be edited to help prevent this getting deeper, esp. with new authors joining each day not knowing the history.

Love to all marketplaces and authors but have you ever seen the movie “Titanic”.

Reminds me of the poor folks shoveling coal for the upper crust to keep the boat afloat. :-)

Just let the music thing happen on its own.

Good luck everyone.

Hello! I will say more .. Many authors of the VH, pay attention to the rating of the track, if you have no, or little stars, the probability of selling the track drops! Although if you sold the track, the buyer can simply forget to rate …

Well its definitely why you see so many threads like these:

http://audiojungle.net/forums/thread/popular-files-question-/48983 http://audiojungle.net/forums/thread/top-new-files-category/62427

Along with so many requests for search engine changes.

VH authors are essentially buyers looking for tracks for their projects. With the current state of the search being the way that it is, what’s the easiest way to find a great track?

It’s no secret that VH projects drive the popular files AJ page but something had to happen first to make that VH author select that particular file initially. What that is only they know but I think it’s a shame that more isnt being done sooner rather than later to better help all of the great music that isnt (yet) aligned with VH projects get more exposure.

+1 Yes. I agree, though we don’t necessarily know what staff is up to behind the scenes. I’m sure they’ve discussed these issues. But at some point I would like to see something added like a “Top New Files” section. I think that thread had some good ideas.
