Okay,
So I found a buddy press theme yesterday that looked great. Before I purchased I asked a question and today it was answered. I go to purchase the theme and see the price went from $40 to $50 over tonight. Price gouging because Buddypress has been promoted to the front of the site?
Either way, so much for purchasing the theme today as I only have $46.40 in my account from my monthly sales.
But it would be nice if the prices weren’t jumping around on these themes.
The price only changed once so I don’t think it’s fair to claim the prices are “jumping around”. It’s just unfortunate for you it happened before you could purchase it at the lower price.

xstortionist maybe the developer of that item was not satisfied with the item price and requested a price increase. You saw it with it’s first price, then the price was reviewed and updated.

Perhaps that is the reason. I will just wait until I get another sale before I purchase. No big deal, but didn’t know you could request to have your prices at a higher rate.

Maybe not fair you are right, but the cached version of the page shows the prior price. At first I thought maybe I read it wrong yesterday, but google has a preview of the cached page from a while ago.
While it’s unfortunate and certainly an inconvenience, the theme is still excellent value. No other site provides high quality files like the theme you are referring to at such a low price.

Hey xstortionist, you’re more than welcome to make a price change request. Just send us a message in support, and give us some additional info about the request (why, how much you’re hoping for, and similarly priced items for comparison). Once we have those we’ll happily forward them on to the review team for consideration.

I’ve had this happen to me twice recently already, one a Buddypress theme and the other wasn’t. Whether or not this happens often it’s still an unpleasant surprise especially when I shortlist themes and show to clients then go back to see a higher price. It doesn’t matter if it’s just ten bucks just agree on the price before releasing the theme and stick with it. I don’t care if it’s the only theme priced at $60 if that’s what it’s agreed to be worth beforehand. No one likes to go to a store, see one price, then go back the next day to see it higher. Even though it may be legit it gives a bad impression.
It’s all good. I just have to wait until my next sale or referral deposit and I’ll purchase the theme. Just sucks because I was excited to work on my site this weekend :0)
Thanks everyone for the details!
Why can you not simply deposit money into your TF account?
