Reasons to get a mobile page
It’s nice, it’s faster to load, faster to useReasons not to get a mobile page
But I wanna check my sales!
Nothing easier! click here a lot of marketplace API apps, I personally use Hagportfolio which is awesome! Has everything I ever need.
But I wanna withdraw my money by the end of the month, what if I’m on vacation?
Really… if you have a phone and you wanna see the marketplaces on it I’m sure you have a data-plan and also have Wi-Fi on it. My country really sucks when it comes to technology and getting internet on your phone or actually on your computer and I can still find at least a Wi-Fi per neighborhood from where I can access the marketplaces for free and withdraw my money if I need to.All in all ( this is just my opinion, please don’t get offended ) a mobile version of the marketplaces would be a bad investment… There are laptops, notebooks, ipads, iphones, androids, a lot of phones that support full internet pages and all you have to do is pinch to zoom or see the page as it is
I think you guys agree….
On the other hand, this we do need!
13. Get more people in the anti-piracy department, I am sure Ibrahim does a great job and hats of to him for helping us make more sales, but you should hire 2 more Ibrahims
I sent him mails with links and a few days later they were offline. So hats of to him! Also, making an author survey to ask us where we find stolen files would be a beauty! Every author here can contribute at least one site name that offers our stuff for free. I am sure of that. That way we could probably make more sales if the piracy department would get them removed faster and faster. 99% of piracy sites host on free websites where a simple DMCA will result in the file being deleted. If more people would be involved in this … I am sure more sales would come our way!
I’ve sent a lot of mails with hundreds of links gathered in just a few hours… every author here can get a huge list of stuff that needs to be removed and can be removed a few days with the necessary staff. Imagine if there would be enough staff to remove them.Sales would sky-rocket, but, sales will always be down if half the marketplaces are free to download from pirate related pages… I am very aware that this is a very delicate subject, but postponing the removal of these links and pages, and files, will only damage the marketplaces more and more and more and more, until eventually, we’ll work for free.
That’s my opinion. Please don’t get upset of I said anything that might seem offensives. I didn’t mean to offend anyone who wants a mobile page or the staff by talking about piracy. The above is just my 2 cents.

You are clearly only thinking about ActiveDen with the can you see XXX Flash things on the iPhone? I never shop ActiveDen but I browse all of the other marketplaces daily. (And yes I mean daily) to VIEW things and BOOKMARK items, which does generate sales. Of course I don’t download things to my iPhone, but when I want to check out the marketplaces and I don’t want to use my laptop (and I never do) I use my phone. And I’m not the only one.
Really it’s not that hard creating a marketplace for mobile phones, you are over-estimating the the difficulty and it’s not a native app, so different screen resolutions doesn’t really matter, if you haven’t noticed alot of mobile sites are just fine on different screen resolutions.
All it would take is to use the API to list, popular items, with their thumbnails, and a search function that also lists items. In fact, I’ve seen someone on the forums who did just that and it didn’t take them years to do it.

I do agree with you, but, do you NEED a mobile version? Or just want because it’s cool to use the phone to browse the internet. That is my question for you guys

No I don’t need it. But things don’t work right when viewing the site on my phone. The Hover images don’t work, and I have to zoom in constantly, a mobile site would fix that. My point is that it is frankly not that hard to build a mobile site.
Probably has already been talked about but perhaps the ability to create support accounts for items? For example instead of giving someone your login details to be able to provide support you could just add a support account which would give them to ability to reply to comments. As it stands now you have to do something like @customer then blah blah blah which can clutter up the comments.

+1 Or just let us use our own support forums! Come’on guys, incorporate logins into the API , like open-id, so no more annoying item purchase codes etc would be needed.
