Just say 500+ Google Fonts and 1000s of Shortcodes. It should be enough to gain a dozen of sales.

Are you trying to sale by the numbers? That is a customizable button. Nothing more.
I just want to write how much shortcode I have thats it.
Thanks

I am seeking some serious replies..
I am serious. If you’re adding shortcodes for use in the post content within your theme, you’re _doing_it_wrong().
If you need some help writing a plugin to handle these shortcodes, I’m more than willing to offer my feedback and help on that.

Like: I have button shortcode with 4 different sizes and 47 different colors and with 250 icons. What will be the count? That’s simple math here: 4 * 47 * 250 = 47,000 variations.
But I do like “One million shortcodes!” more…
You forgot the button text variations. Let’s say there are millions of words so that times 47000 variations… uhm… let’s just say “Bazillion Shortcodes”.
@Spyropress
To answer your question, the count is one. That’s just one shortcode with many variations. Same as your car is one car, not thousands of cars just because you can have the window down or the wipers on or the lights or the blinkers… it’s one car.
If you want to count the shortcodes count the shortcodoes, not all the variations a shortcode can make, such as button styles. That’s a bit misleading.

Right or wrong is not the question. This trend has been set here on this market place, and this is not the only one. Now if you want to sell your theme, you need to add a lot of useless features in it just to add to your features list.
Please listen to Justin + others.
Today I seen this in a theme:
[tlt_header important="1"]This is a H1 header[/tlt_header]
Yes, it is a shortcode for a f**king heading…

I hate shortcodes also. I think with page builder and editor style, it can replace any shortcode.

Yes, but what I saw is the theme authors are counting the variations as well.

buttons – 1 shortcode(with other properties)
tabs – 1 shortcode
accordion – 1 shortcode
...
total – x shortcodes
Count only shortcodes, not the properties of a shortcode.

You will not impress buyers by using a bombastic number for shortcodes. State that your theme has nice shortcodes and that should be enough. Until that you will have to impress the buyers with the design.
