I don’t know if it has something to do with the new tags search but my sales have increased (a tad) lately. :-D

In summer, there’s no much sale I think.

It’s winter in Australia! :)

I think you’re comparing apples to oranges if you think the improved search is directly going to help increase your sales. :) It’s technically not going to do that and it’s wrong to try to correlate the success of the new search/tagging system to how well your files are currently selling/performing.

The new search and tagging system is totally brilliant and is working a treat, I love how well it looks at all our new tags and how it’s able to assist customers a lot better. But to increase files sales, there are more important factors at stake: Quality of your file, the demand for your file, how you promote your file outside of the envato network etc…

Just because you have a new GPS in your car, it’s not necessarily going to get you to work any quicker. You’ll still probably drive the same route to work, and you’ll still hit the same traffic every morning. The point being, the new GPS isn’t going to solve all your problems, but it will help you. Just like the new tagging/search system.

If your files are not selling, it’s probably not because of the new search/tagging system. There are a million other variables why your file might not be selling. :) Just wanted to denounce any myths that seem to be forming here that the new search engine is going to increase everyone’s sales by 400%. It’s not. So let’s be realistic. :) The new search/tagging system is a success because it helps customers find what they want a lot quicker and a lot more accurately based on how authors tag their content.

hehe…. scott… I do not think anybody here is saying something bad against the new search system. I find it a great adition to the marketplaces. I was just curious to see if somebody has noticed changes…. because sometimes after a change like this, buyers tend to find files they have not seen before… just because the search returns (sometimes) fewer files. Because the search might be more specific….

like searching for menus…. if the word menu did not appear in the title of the item….. then it would not show….... now some menus are appearing under the search: “menu” thanks to the new tags…..

So…. as you see…. I think it is a positive improvement…. and I am happy about it :-)...... I was just wondering if people have noticed the improvement….. authors or buyers…. I have been selling for example old stuff…... maybe because now people are finding those items through their searches…......

I had one file that started selling like hotcakes and then after a few days sales went away. I wonder if tagging was implemented and then an update was made a few days later…

Well apart from UK. Due to the recession, summer this year was from the 15th to the 16th June, so half of the population was not allowed to leave, and the other half has swine flu anyway, so they are all quarantined :D
