12.34567% becomes 12.35% in Opera 11.60.

Oh really? I’ve tested this a while ago on an older version…anyway 12.35% isn’t 12.34567%

In a way i am a big fan of responsive layout but it’s not for everyone, I prefer to target 3-4 size (media queries) and not target it in %% (and there is really no perfect solution and it more work for the end buyer/user ) .
For example many don’t change the image, instead they just re-size it, and i think it’s a bad practice for mobile ….. But again there are so many ways doing it and i don’t think there is right or wrong just the final outcome.
Also in any platform round numbers are always a preference for me

Absolutely. Certain versions of IE round differently as well, and it can be nearly impossible to write percentage-based widths that will be rendered consistently cross-browser without using hacks.
Take columns, for example. 1px off and your last column is on the next line. That’s a big deal.
