i don’t know how to recover it (probably you can’t at all) but what i know is:

1. make backup often
2. buy a macintosh (and use time machine) ;)

On pc there are lots of backup alternatives. I love carbonite.com. 100% peace of mind.

i really would love to give you the money. the thing is that mac maybe is a bit expensive in the beginning but it’s worth every $.

once you go mac, forget about all the problems (hardware, software).

You may recover psd files with the help of recovering from photoshop. It works with high end, clear interface. The tool is able to work under any Windows OS. The software doesn’t change source data during recovery.

Hi,

may be you should look for *.tmp file in the same folder and renaming it to *.psd will help, not sure but worth to try.

lol you don’t need a mac to NOT HAVE PROBLEMS WITH PC – just buy a good pc with a good hardware, doesn’t have to be mac, and doesn’t have to be as twice as expensive as mac, although you do need to be familiar with PC hardware in general.
