I was in this same boat about a year ago. I ended up buying a PS3 for a couple reasons.

To play online with xbox, you have to pay microsoft, ps3 is free.

PS3 can play blue-rays :)

Those were the reasons I chose PS3 . As far as the kind of games per console, you are always going to find a game you like on any console.

I owned both for a while, but have since sold my XBox 360. PS3 is far better as not only a game system but as an entire media center. It’s much more open as far as modifying and using your own media, it’s more powerful, has a better interface, plays blu-ray, online play is free, plus it’s the only system that you can play God of War :D

I personally dislike guitar hero because its kitschy graphics. And now I seen Dance Central at Budapest Game Show 2010 and all I can say it’s the same but with dancing this time… Watching those overdone 3d models dancing in front of you over and over again? Bah. I’d rather go to dance at a club or something.

However I tried a car game which you could drive with your arms put out in front of you it was fun.. There was an other one when the digital you was moving forward with some obstacles coming to you and you had to jump over them or crouch under them. It’s good for your health that’s for sure..

All in all kinect is a cheap motion capture system, and I like the idea, but it’ll be much better later. At Computer Art Forum there was PS3 move, but that’s just ridiculous.. people sawing the air with bright colored tennis balls. If you are into controlling your console-game with your movements I’d definitely choose KINECT .

I’m a PlayStation fan, but I was really impressed with the XBOX 360 ’s innovative Kinect system. Not that I own it or anything.
