Promotion through personal website

Hey guys, how does promotion with the help of a personal website work? Let’s assume I created a website with the links to my items on Videohive, found a hosting and linked my site with it. Now it’s on the web. What’s the next step? How to make it appear in Google after certain search requests? Thanks.

You can try Google Ads, but I don’t know if it’s worht it. It’s hard to create website which can be at least 50% like AJ – great looking and easy using for customer

Umm. Bum steer. You can ‘submit’ your site to G via Webmaster Tools but a robots.txt file has nothing to do with being indexed.

You need to create a landing page for each of your item. For example http://themezilla.com/themes/scope . After creating landing page you need to do SEO and SEM for each landing page against search terms you want to target. Also, try to build its PR based on link backs from various articles on other websites or forum comments etc.

Overall a landing page with good contents and PR will brings you lots of sales.

From what I know, Google and other search engines will index your site irrespective of you submitting your site to them.

There is no need to do anything to make the site appear in the index. All submitting forms or tools are dummy things for people who still believe we got 1995 and Altavista times.

Google adds a page to the index when it sees links leading to it from other websites. But to promote your products with a website, it’s not enough, because for this you need to appear in the results higher than your competitors.
