Hey everyone,

My MacBook Pro Retina arrived yesterday! :D

What programs / apps do you suggest I get for a nice smooth work flow?

Other popular applications are:

Growl : http://growl.info/ – Notification system (might come obsolete in future OSX versions)

Perian : http://perian.org/ – Adds support for many popular types of media.

Congratulations on your first Mac :)
Here’s a few apps I know I can’t live without.

Never been a fan of Alfred, I use Spotlight for what I need and it works better for me. Anyway, there’s a small list of useful apps ;)

Enjoy!

You should give the Nettuts+ Sturcturer a try. Here is the free version and the paid version.

Another app that comes in really handy is CodeBox and Flow for FTP .

Additionally I would like to recommand the Dropbox app for your backups and the Google notification app for your GMail notifications. :)

I just got my new mac as well although mine isn’t retina. :)

I had one before this one so the first things I installed were Alfred and Dropbox.

After that Photoshop + Illustrator cs6, sparrow, kickoff, Skype, twitter.app, coda, gradient.app transmit, reeder, iA Writer, suitcase fusion 4, x scope, wallet and VLC . App zapper, cloud.app are also must haves.

Enjoy your new mac, you’ll never go back ;)
