Product dies...

From more than one year of experience, I observed that the product slowly dies. Even my top selling products slowly dies and stops to sell. This is unfortunate and makes the author keep making new products in order to earn. I have an idea of keeping products alive which Envato can implement to it’s marketplace but who will listen to me

please share it, i want to listen to your idea, maybe we can make a small army of voices

yeah, I’d like to hear that idea too. Why not? If it’s a great idea, maybe someday Envato will…. you know:)

The idea is to make a new section on front page which displays random items from different authors. On each page refresh items change. This will give exposure to old items. Also on item page at the end related items of other authors should be displayed which will also give exposure to old items. Related item system is implemented in PhotoDune and I think it works well.

hm.. i guess its a normal symptom of any product especially in a field where things are changing so fast, new products are coming up fast. But off course im also curious about your idea.

Than it’s sad that the items which are of top quality are not selling well as compared to same type of items selling well because they are new to the market.

Well your items were new to the market at some point as well. And dont forget files are being browsed and sold through search function as well.

I agree but it’s an extra step to make old items alive.

We should always consider new ideas to make sales more stable.
The author responsibility is making an item as good as he/she can ; and both author’s and the Envato’s responsibility is promoting those hardwork.

Do your best, upload unique and quality items, take care about your product pages and thumbnails etc. etc. ; and if you promote your items well outside the Envato, they will always sell.
