Hi! I’m having trouble with the approval on a new item. It had a soft reject on description. After editing nothing happend for about 10 hours, although before these things took an hour max. But the update had not only stuck at the middle, but during the day the line became much less. What could happen? Is it a punishment for not paying enough attention to description? :) I have no logical explanation for what is happening.

You shouldn’t think in terms of punishment around here. That’s not how it works. If someone would want to punish you for some reason, then I’m sure you’d receive a warning-message.

The line you’re talking about is just some indicator. The line is not a definate thing – in practice it serves little purpose. While at the one moment it can be at 90%, the other moment it can be at 60%. The reason being that queue processing is an internal affair, and is subject to many factors like availability of reviewers, unpredictable workload for certain items, things going wrong, etc.

Also, when you just want to update the description for an item, then that’s an instant thing. The item does not need to be requeued again. Just click the upper “Save Changes” (see image). You only need to requeue the item when you have changed the item contents, tags, title and/or meta-data.

Thanks for your reply! of course I was only joking ‘bout the punishment :) impatience sometimes takes over.

If it was about the item that had been added, than no problem, editing does not require any approvement. But I’m talking about an item that was not loaded on AJ yet. So I’ll be waiting and hoping.
