I am amazed that anyone would not want to raise prices. Wordpress themes are $50 now. Their prices went up but they are still selling like crazy. After Effects projects top out at $30. I think $14 for a piece of music HIGHLY DEVALUES the importance music brings to a project.

It’s very sad to me that so many truly have no idea how undervalued their work is. There are a few components to this complex pie.

1.) The last time the prices increased, sales increased. You can’t let a slow start to the year or fear of lost sales cloud your judgment. The very harsh reality is that everyone cannot have major success on AudioJungle, or anywhere for that matter. There are 4000 authors now. The majority of sales however are being made by the top 250 authors. It’s not the prices that are causing sales to drop, it’s competition! Until you can break through into the top 250 at least ( and maybe even higher) you are simply going to have to play a hard game of patience.

2.) AudioJungle prices don’t have to be industry leading, but they need to at the very least come up to industry standard. I promise you if that doesn’t happen authors ( and top ones too) are going to start leaving. Too many high selling authors leaving would be devastating to the entire marketplace. It’s not that a void would be created and just filled by remaining authors. Customers have also become loyal to many author work and will go wherever the author does. A move like that could potentially send the site back 5 years.

You work hard for your music. You spend hours, days, sometimes weeks over your composition. You write your own material, you produce your own material, you are alway having to purchase new hardware and software to keep current…... And you feel ok that you are selling your blood, sweat and many tears for 14 dollars max??!!

The initial excitement of someone actually wanting to buy your music wears off fast as you heavily invest your life in your passion. 3 sales may be good luck, 3000 sales is not. If so many don’t want an increase that’s fine with me – but AudioJungle, please at least create a way for the ones who do want to.

We really have to learn to value our music. I am new in the RF bizz but not new in the production music bizz. 14$ for a single licence is very very cheap. The question is why we are selling our music for this price ? Nobody is forcing us to sell at AJ. Maybe it`s because we all hope we`ll sell a lot. But Tim is so right. Not everyone will make it. The majority of sales will still come from the Top200. In 2013 it`s harder to sell than in 2009 ! More competitors and the composers from day1 are established. That is totally normal :-) But prices must gain !

Please anyone can tell me how much money was the last and successful price increase?

Perhaps the answer clearing our doubts. :)

Thanks in advance.
