I think most remember we had a thread regarding the increased prices over at ThemeForest and many VH authors expressed that the AE template prices should be increased as well.
So I thought it would be good to run a quick Poll in regards to the prices of items on VH. There are 2 separate polls for buyers and authors.

I voted $10. It’s a bit hard to give a flat rate, because of course a 10$ premium on a $5 motion graphic is huge, where a $10 premium on a top-notch AE project currently priced at $35 is not so much.
I think in general, given the quality rises that have occurred here in the last four years and factoring in a little for inflation, that an across the board rise of 25%-35% would bring prices back to broadly where they were four years ago.
The problem at the moment is that it’s becoming not worth it for high-quality authors to compete with the rock-bottom pricing model. We’ve hit a quality and variety ceiling, and we’re currently building more and more quantity. Something of a dead-end, and a gap in the market for competitors.

I voted 0$.
I think Videohive is popular by it’s low prices. It’s affordable.

ThemeForest is popular too. with 45-50$ WP themes and 80$ magento themes. much more popular than VH. so i think if a buyer want a video, he/she will buy it.

But ThemeForest is much much more popular then Videohive.
That doesn’t make any sense. Why not just give VH projects for free then?

+1 this.
just a reminder, we’re in the middle of the “Great Depression, Part 2”, the world’s worst economic climate and massive unemployment in 50+ years. So keeping pricing low is important (I’m doing this in my business, charging 1/3 of what my competitors charge, fwiw).
