Plugin Needed- Roles/Capabilities - any suggestions?

Hi,

I’m building a school website where 8 admin staff with their own logins will be able to edit certain pages and add news items. I then need any admins to be alerted to these changes/additions so one of them can check them before publishing.

There are only certain pages I want visible to be edited for these admin staff.

All the plugins I’ve seen for roles and capabilities are huge complex beasts. Is there a simple solution for what I need?

We have two plugins that lets you change capabilities and create user roles. We also have a plugin that lets you perform access control on pages, posts, custom post types.
