I’m actually against submitting one design to both categories. It’s unfair towards other designers and buyers. Removing the .psd after submitting to site templates should be compulsory

Hey Segan I don’t think it’s required to do so. For the most part I think it should be but that is only because of the price points that Themeforest has decided on.

I was actually wondering what would happen if you deleted your file? Will the buyer be able to download the file again? or will it be gone?

No they can’t download it after you delete it. So by doing so you are creating difficulties for those who bought the PSD .

It’s not forbidden to have both but it’s advised to remove the PSD after You have submitted the HTML and we all know what happens when both files are kept. Lately in the recent items tab on homepage I see a lot of duplicated items just different categories and also the prices are another discussion.

I definitely agree that the PSD should be removed once a coded version is added to the Site Templates section.

This was brought up in another post a little while back and Jeffrey commented saying its not mandatory they remove the PSD but it’s appreciated if they choose to. I really think it should be mandatory, before the coded template is approved the PSD should be removed.

This was one issue that I was worried about when we first launched the new category. We’re taking notes. :)

My opinion is that it should be mandatory to remove the psd if a template is available. They should just include the psd with the template so if someone really wants to code it themselves, they still can.

Until management makes it mandatory I don’t blame those for doing it. Currently they are just asking for us to do what seems right. The problem with this scenario is that most are going to do so (I recently did) but then you have others who want to bank of the double exposure. For now, those who do what seems to be the right thing are going to be screwed by those who are not. In my opinion you can not ask people to do this knowing others are taking advantage of the system.
