I know that use a lot of keywords when uploading an item could be like spam, I was afraid to be rejected because of that, but the limit of 15 tags must be individual, not total, that is a maximum of 15 Instruments Tags and 15 Mood Tags, 30 total.
Other stock sites have a limit of 50.
Buyers could enter a variety of serch terms so authors must have the chance to enter all of the words that buyers could think.
AJ may like to develop drop menus for mood and other characteristics, or some kind of list of moods, multiple choice, to select from so they are able to filter items on a limited range or spectrum they need. This feature may be available on the upload page.
also 15 tags for instruments is a bit large… has anybody composed anything for 15 instruments? ... unless you start listing all individual first violin, second violin … in an orchestra or break down a drum kit to hats snare kick etc… an official tagging system is a great thing but just 15 tags for describing the audio file is a bit limited… hope we get a bit more
nope its not too large for instruments – I’ve composed plenty of stuff for 20 + instruments – write for orchestra and you’ve got plenty of instruments to start off with – add drums, and electronic parts to it, and you’re getting close to 15 already
What happened to just describing the mood / feeling of the tune?
Yea I didn’t see anything wrong with the current way of doing things to be honest.
I have tried and there is only room for 15 all together …
I had trouble fitting in all my keywords….
Still, will the keywords in the description-field be unnecessary when tagging will be up running? Or …. will they still be a part of the search-engine?
And more relevant is the question from blazznet:
[...] (eg. entered tags of “puppy”, “doggy” and “hound” might be edited to consistently be “dogs”) [...] if a buyer searches for “puppies” will my audio file with the tag “dogs” show up?
All the best ….
I’m back using old style upload page to avoid limitations on tags.
Once the item was approved I saw that some tags appear on the attribute at the right and I guess they was inserted by the reviewer (or was me? ouch!).
Because of my bad english it’s useful to me but three it’s not enough
On some stock photo sites administrators offer for a few cents to give the reviewer the job of generating keywords.
It’s a great deal for non-english speakers but you need to be sure that the item will generates enough encome so as to pay that feed!
To avoid subjectivity on both authors and buyers and the million of different words they may use I suggest to use menus for mood with multiple selection when a contributor uploads an item and when a buyer makes a search but still let contributors add a lot of keywords (whithout abuse) on the description field just for Search Engines positionning
Will it in the very near future be possible to have more than 15 tags?
I don’t want to start tagging now, and when done realize that I have to start all over again ….
It would also be great to hear some answers to all the posted “questions”
Any from the staff around ............
All the best
