Opera Drops WebKit Too

Perhaps not long from now, Apple will be the only one still using WebKit for Safari? Since it’ll probably continue to be an iOS / Mac OS only browser, it’s relevance might be further jeopardized?

Too bad Apple won’t likely let Google use Blink in iOS. We’re forever stuck with an skinned Chrome imposter.

Pfff. You are so right about the iOS limitation. I’m curious how Blink implementation will go, as far as I know it will keep most of the WebKit engine but will be much lighter.

Exactly my thoughts, yet they made it so popular (or at least thanks to them mostly).

Btw, did anyone noticed the new custom context menu? (it doesn’t use the Windows UI anymore), looks cleaner but takes more space :/

I don’t know, mixed feelings here. Maybe I’m just getting to old and should just quit this filthy job.

My logic tells me that vendors should support our stuff and not the other side around like we have all the desire to waste even more hours to debug very simple stupid stuff on all those browsers. We’ll see how much they mess with it.

By the way Apple didn’t invent webkit, get over that myth.

Of all the browsers Chrome is the only one that’s never let me down, so I’m confident Google will make Blink a great browser. My only hope is that they use non-vendor-prefixed CSS3 properties son we don’t have to go back and update a million things.

I was wondering the same thing, but I doubt they’ll do that (hopefully).

This should not be a problem when using prefixfree or csscrush.
