Just wanted to ask if it was allowed to use soundtrack from for example Lord of the Rings. They don’t have any lyrics in them, so I thought maybe it would be OK. Just wanted to get clarification on it.

Well, I’ve seen people use movie clips for their previews. So what is wrong with using movie soundtrack for preview?

Well it’s the same with photos, videos and logo’s in your preview video, you need permisision to use them. But If you saw them in other videos, why not contact the author and ask what he/she did?

Simple answer: No.

But i too see that a lot of people use those tracks… My guess is that reviewers simply does not recognizes the song and approves it.
