You just need to hit enter twice for a new paragraph..

This line is proof of that. A new paragraph always skips a line so it makes sense to hit enter twice.

If you want
to simply do this,
use a break tag. :)

Oh btw, did you read the part about the break tags? They work just fine. Though to answer your question again, double lines are the standard for new paragraph breaks. There was probably no need to allot precious developer resources to programming single line breaks on the forum, because (i) there’s no real pragmatic need for them, and (ii) they could tend to be abusively used to purposely disorganize threads to make moot points. :)
