IMO Envato should remove such a term as Elite. It does not proof author skills, like some people (buyers) may think.

I’m sure you’ll change your mind about it once you reach Elite level ;)

I think, 50-70% for exclusive authors – it’s good..For non-exclusive authors 33-50% or even 33-40% program is more needed..And surely, we waiting for a 2-3 $ price increasing on AJ..

Well the top authors wouldn’t be making the money they do without Envato that’s for sure.. so I think 70% is very fair.

Current commission rate is good, also I like elite program perks, maybe something more for 500k and 750k would be great, but I wouldn’t complain about how thing currently are :)

It’s a mutual benefit. Envato wouldn’t make such money without the top authors.

Totally agree. Non-exclusives need a sliding scale as well. 33%-49% would be brilliant and would help Envato to look more fair-trade in terms of it’s dealings with contributors.

Also +1 on the price increase, especially for vectors / GR items. Desperately needed.

Indeed then it should be 50 / 50… top authors wouldn’t make such money without a marketplace with the infrastructure and exposure.. and Envato wouldn’t make money if they didn’t have authors making them stock to sell… But also we should take into account Envato’s business costs, amount of staff they have to pay, hosting, advertising and so on.. I mean Envato only take 30% from the top authors, and they most likely spend a large chunk of those funds keep this site running, so authors can continue to make money.

I am all for a bigger cut for authors, but in my opinion the non-exclusive is the worst. 33% cut is so bitter-sweet, even for items that are exclusive but since there is no item based exclusion they also get cut. Even though its income that probably wouldn’t be there without Envato I still hesitate to upload new files under this agreement.

70% seems to be the about the standard for exclusive authors on marketplaces I’ve looked into, many places even without any requirements for any sales record. Exclusive Elite authors should definitively get a boost for their hard work up to 70%, perhaps a bonus? :D

Also :P Remove the non-exclusive, then I won’t have to get so annoyed every time i see other authors break this agreement.
