thats a really awesome concept, but I would suggest waiting until the user scrolled down to a specific clip to begin loading, rather than having to wait for all videos to load up to see anything.

Really nice work… It would really help a lot if you had a thumbnail of the videos in the work section instead of the first frame of each video. Because some videos have a black screen on the first frame and it can be confusing, I thoughted there was a problem loading the videos.

I am the Art Director that hired Wangruyi to customize the video gallery for my client Jesus David Yepes of jDvisual.com. Firstly, I think considering that Wangruyi built this file it took him much longer to customize the file than expected. He tried to bill me more than quoted and when I told him I was unhappy about this he decided to stick to the original price quoted.

After the file was built and my client started to load videos into the solution we noticed that it took an extremely long time to load the videos, even after I explained to my client that he could not have the files at the size he was trying to post them at. I then contacted Wangruyi about a solution which loaded an image first as a placeholder so that the viewer would not just see black.

I believe someone above made the same comment about this. Wangruyi then tried to charge me almost the full price of the customization for this one feature. This is what this post is about, not only do I believe he is overcharging for his customization work but he has no sense of quality or making things right when an existing solution he has built does not function or work properly.

I’m an intermediate flash animator and yet he tried talking to me as if the work was overly complicated. Not knowing that I have worked with flash developers who can write complex code solutions and class files for you in an IM window upon just hearing the problem. This solution DOES NOT function properly for the viewers and I would advise anyone he is trying to sell this to fully test this with movies and look for problems before paying him.

I’m very dissatisfied with the outcome of this and Wangruyi in posting this thread about a solution to which he is overcharging my client for has no professional sense of work ethic or understanding of how to build working relationships.

wangruyi, for what is worth, I truly appreciate your work and the quality of your files. You’ll get to see unhappy clients at every step, but the truly creative Flash Developers are hard to find. And I know you’re one of them.

@dlicht_dotcom: my advise is that you charge a flat rate from start, so things like this don’t happen. As far as I can see the player is flawless, and it looks really nice integrated into the website.
