Music on the iPad

Looks a few composition apps will surely migrate their way well onto Ipad, seems interesting to say the least. I’m sure well within a few months time will be getting submissions to hear..

I think I’d enjoy having a go at this one when it gets released here, myself

Just downloaded “Synth”, it’s actually really nice and a lot of fun. You really can’t complain about it for $1. The built-in sampling feature is a nice touch – you can record your voice and play it back on the synth and add effects. It’s fairly simple and it’s not currently possible to save sounds, settings or samples that you create. It would be fantastic if a later update added that functionality. The 5 note polyphony is good for playing chords. For a synth “on the go” creating basslines or experimenting with digital melodies, it looks good and performs well for a dollar.

The iPad is really neat. I just don’t see anything that’s making me want to jump on it yet. I think I’ll hold out for an iSight cam in it. This is a cool application for it:

I’ll sit back and watch it grow. The other nice thing about the iPad is it does so may other useful things. It’s not just limited to one thing like a control surface. You can get an app for it to be a control surface and still use it for other things and the money is better spent. I’m excited about the iPad, just not ready to get one yet.
