more benefits for exclusive authors

Why do you think most of the buyers are looking for exclusive items only? I think they don’t care much about it. I am non-exclusive author and I can tell that I earn much more money from all the places than if I’d be an exclusive here on Envato. (40% is not much for exclusive, other sites give 50% for non-exclusive with bigger prices). I’m here because I get really good freelance jobs from buyers.

And if you say to show in search result exclusive items first, I don’t think it’s right for Envato. Because exclusive file that not mean that is the better file. I think buyers sort files by popularity and sales. If I was a buyer I was first find the item I need and then see if it’s exclusive or not (if I was looking for something exclusive).

– If you miss some keywords the reviewer to correct them and accept your file. If you are not exclusive than your file to be rejected and you need to enter the proper keywords again.

by being non-exclusive author you already are in different type/ category. And it is up to you to which one to belong. You are not treated, you made the choice. By being non-exclusive author you HAVE the option to sell on other places, and I don’t. Am I a second rate flash components web seller, just because I decided to sell only here? No I do not think so. This is how the business works or at least should.

To be an exclusive author has advantages and disadvantages. The advantages for me are disadvantages for you and vice versa. You have advantages which I don’t. But you are not talking about them right? And I completely can understand you.

I completely agree with the idea the exclusive author should have more benefits, but i’m not sure how it could work…What i am sure is that making exclusive option more attractive is for sure business-wize…WHY? simply because you will not loose any non-exclusive author, since they sell their files everywhere, why someone will want to simply remove their files from here and loose money ? That will never happen. By giving at exclusive authors specials rights or advantage, the only thing that will happen is convice more and more people to become exclusive at flashden, The community will get stronger, and no non-exclusive will be lost that’s for sure. It cost nothing to put your files here, so no one are going to remove them if they are not exclusive for sure, but it can convince them to be exclusive…The only question is: do envato REALLY want everybody here to be exclusive ? i mean even if it makes the marketplace stronger in the long term, non-exclusive author are more profitable in the short term for envato. DS make a lot of sales, but envato have to give him 70% of all the profit, and only 25% at non exclusive ..So even if he sells a lot more, OXYLUS is more profitable to envato than DS.
