Give him a couple of days to reply, however it is not compulsary for the author to give help.

If still nothing and the file is actually broken/not as described then you can speak to staff about it and a possible refund. If you are just having difficulty in setting up the item purchased then im afraid you may have to look into paying someone to help you as ive said free help from the author is not complusary.

CC :)

That depends, how are you defining “trouble”?

If you mean that the product is broken or has errors yet the author is not fixing them then you can contact support and they will fix them or issue you a refund,

If you mean that you are having trouble using, customizing, or implementing the item then the author has no obligation to help, and you’ll need to pay a freelancer to help you. Authors cannot be responsible for the level of knowledge of the buyer, and they get an extremely small amount of money for individual sales, not nearly enough to cover any support. When you buy a product you are buying the sources for that working product, NOT the work hours of the author to customize or help you implement. But there are many freelancers that are on these networks, simply post a request in the forums and many will give you quotes for the job :)

For all:

I am not stupid as you think :)

Implementation is simple, i event fixed one bug (thu source fla, with little knowledge of flash),

Problem was outside of my knowledge, Look here and read my comments for issues..

Author himself promised to fix, but that was last time i heard him

edit: just use for sample russian language on my site ( after you follows my comments )

Hi,

You must understand that there is no obligation that states that the author should provide support in such cases. Of course, it may be considered somewhat rude to promise something and not to do it, however the author cannot be held accountable for this.

If you wish to pursue the matter, I suggest that you e-mail support@envato.com . Although I am not sure what support can do for you, since – again – there is no obligation here.

Have you tried messaging the author through his page? Perhaps even through his site? He may have forgotten all about this since he has…42 items.

Yaacov,

Please note that what Arik stated is in fact true. No authors are ever required to provide support on their files. They are required to provide a help file, but beyond that any further assistance is not an obligation.

But on the other hand if the trouble you are having is a bug with the file or is because the file does not work as stated, then you may contact support to get a refund. Files MUST work as described.

If what you are looking for the file to do, falls outside of its standard functionality, then that is a matter of support and the author has the choice to provide assistance or not.

Helpful Information

  • Please read our community guidelines. Self promotion and discussion of piracy is not allowed.
  • Open a support ticket if you would like specific help with your account, deposits or purchases.
  • Item Support by authors is optional and may vary. Please see the Support tab on each item page.

Most of all, enjoy your time here. Thank you for being a valued Envato community member.
