I think Surface has a lot of unique and innovative features like built-in stand, keyboard on the cover.

Smart Cover is a useless $40 add-on for a glorified media consumption device that ripped off the tablet concept Microsoft pioneered in the mid-2000s.

Real question here is what processor does it use? How fast apps will operate on it.

I know that Windows 8 require twice less resources than windows 7 …

I think that this is the best Microsoft commercial ever

Yeah but Apple haven’t really invented anything they just make the inventions of others come to life and thats what is great… We would have to wait few more years to have a functional tablet if Apple haven’t released theirs. I agree it is a consumer device but I don’t see any other point in owning a tablet… working on such thing is a pain and always will be.

It depends on which version. The ARM -based version runs on an nVidia Tegra (http://www.neowin.net/news/microsoft-surface-for-windows-rt-features-a-nvidia-tegra-processor). The non-ARM version runs on an Intel i5 or i7.

All I read was “supports Adobe Flash” hopefully this will be an iPad killer

Microsoft never could figure out the inter-webs. That’s how Google took a bite out of them.

...and now it’s back up.

Personally, I think this is awesome. I love the Metro/Win8 OS style. I would also love to have one of their phones but they were just coming out when I got my last phone and so many MS phones had died or lived a short depressing life I didn’t want to risk it. Now with the expansion of that OS and Nokia on board, I’m considering it for my next phone.

Oh I think they did more than that. They took designs from a previous era and innovated in that space. Apple single-handedly pushed mobile computing back into the mainstream with the iPhone and iPad. I purposefully left that out of my previous comment for quasi-satirical/sarcastic reasons. What Apple has done is phenomenal, yes, but don’t be blind to other technological advances—both past and present. Love technology, not the company that makes it.
