Growth of marketplaces is obvious! You are doing a great job! Thanks!
I know you don’t get to hear it from us that often, but you guys are doing amazing, and you are absolutely the best as far as any media related internet sites go! It is very apparent how hard you all work. We authors tend to forget that from time to time, maybe most of the time because we are so used to how great the Envato Marketplaces really are. It is unfortunately fun and exciting sometimes to get caught up in the discussions about how things could or should be improved and we all just want and hope our opinions and ideas will be heard. You guys are listening and I think most authors know that. It shows in just about eveything you guys do. Nobody is perfect. But you guys really try and usually, almost all of the time, at least make it known that you think the World of your authors. I really appreciate it!
Thanks you for giving us the lowdown by the way. It is encouraging to hear what you guys are doing to make the place better, and I think it is an excellent way to qualm about 80-90% of the complaints posted on these pages.
Keep your noses to the grindstone Team Envato!
Gee, Chucks – Thanks guys!!
We’re really conscious of the fact that its been a long time coming on the significant feature side of things. Scaling and growing seriously have a toll!
But HOORAY for plans to grow the dev team this year and for improved search. The search work we aim to begin working on in late May will be aimed at adding search facets (search/filter by features), scalability and improved relevancy.

Growth, scaling, and site reliability has been nothing short of +A. Known that for a while but it’s easily overlooked. So, good job silent ninjas in the background!

From an author perspective, it’s 100% understandable why Envato prioritizes certain projects (PhotoDune, search, review queue) over others (item support tools). My biggest complaint is a lack of transparency along the way and promises that things are “in the pipe” when they actually weren’t. It’s nice to be informed that Envato won’t be doing any front-end facing features for six months at least, but also disappointing because it’s on the tail end of years of promises.
Transparency isn’t a thing you reveal at a boiling point, it’s a continuous dissemination of progress. I really respect Envato and the scale they’ve achieved, but I hope they can change their behavior to keep those people apprised of activity. Every few months I touch-base with a marketplace manager and suggest something like Interstate App: http://interstateapp.com/
Please use that, and keep up the good work.
