With the visual refresh going live this week I thought I would take the time to write an article explaining a bit more about our front-end architecture and how we are making the Marketplaces responsive.
Currently the Envato Marketplaces’ are 7 years old, and as we work on new and existing features we are taking every opportunity to bring the front-end code inline with our modern coding practices. In most cases this is a complete rebuild of a module’s HTML and CSS.
While we are still a while off making every page responsive the hard work going towards this goal is having massive benefits straight away. As we progressively update, modularize and responsify our front-end code we are freeing ourselves from any legacy front-end constraints, enabling us to ship new features and design changes much quicker, and eventually a mobile friendly Envato Marketplaces.
And btw, I’m wondering that envato will create a mobile apps for IOS, Android, and Windows Phone.
I think that’ll be great.
I know there are already several apps on envato extras.
But they are just too limited.
But, Imagine that we can reply user’s comments on the go, get notification for each sales, new review for our item(s), chit-chat on envato forum that the existed apps can’t.
Responsive will be awesome when browsing on the go. All your small changes are starting to come together. Thanks for keeping us posted in the community, as you can tell we have some passion in here
This would be awesome
Keep up the good work guys. I for one am enjoying seeing all the changes here lately, appreciating that they are small steps toward a bigger goal.
Can’t wait to see it all come together.
