Hi there guys! I want to ear you… what programs do you use for layout and design books, printing, etc?

I am looking for a software easy to start but with high quality (I know it’s impossible to master a program from the begining but you know)

Thanks in advice!

Well, I think one of the most widely-used is Adobe InDesign.

There are others, like QuarkXpress or Corel Ventura, but I think InDesign is sort of an industry standard.

You can still use Illiustrator and Photoshop for print as well remember :)

But InDesign is the most popular for this kind of thing. Wish I knew how to use it heh.

Yeah, I was thinking about using Photoshop + Illustrator because I have more experience with it but don’t if it would be OK :S

InDesign for the actual page layout, with PS and AI for the obvious reasons.

You can use PS and AI for print but I wouldn’t recommend trying to lay anything over two pages with either of them. This is where InDesign shines, two main things that will make your life so much easier are stylesheets and master templates, among a bunch of other features.
