Looking for a specific type of music for a project of mine.

Hello AJ authors!

Here’s what I’m looking for:

I’m working on a project which has a stronger humanitarian side. It’s an animation project that discusses starvation, homeless children and social problems on different parts of the globe. This sets the mood quite exactly for me but it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s sad. I’m not really looking for strong melancholic moods either. Obviously the topic is not a happy one either. It’s somewhere in between a dramatic approach and a full on objective discussion of facts regarding starvation and deaths from diseases. Adding some sort of a tearjerking piece of music to this animation will make my viewers think that I’m trying to make them feel guilty. That’s something that I’m definitely not aiming for.

Simple instrumentation (example: solo piano) is something that works really good in these cases because I’m not looking to be bombastic, pretentious with a strong impact.

One last important note: this animation starts off with an objective, slightly dramatic statement of facts (discussing how many people live on this planet without food, schools and a decent income) but it shows that there is some way to turn this around! That means that the music needs to become optimistic in the end to show that despite all the social problems in the world we can change things and make the planet a better place for ourselves.

So a happier and optimistic ending is in order in terms of musical structure.
