Hi guys, my friends and I are traveling to London at the end of September and we would need help finding cheap accommodation.

There are 7 of us and we are staying in London for 3 days. We are looking for anything close to the city center and as cheap as possible.

Thank you for any and all help.

city center + cheap = impossible

Consider getting the tube in, so look at the subway lines, circle line etc

Does it have to be a hotel or would you consider a hostel? When you say “city” do you actually mean the city or do you mean like Oxford street etc?

Look at http://www.hostelworld.com/hosteldetails.php/MEININGER-London-Hyde-Park/London/17414#facilities I believe thier dorms sleep 8 so you may be able to get a whole one to yourselves-it gets great reviews and is v central (quite posh bit).

http://hostelworld.com/hosteldetails.php/YHA-London-Oxford-Street/London/6996#availability these guys have private 3 and 4 bed dorms for sure and a little more expensive but still insanely cheap for london and it is right on oxford street.

Neither of these are glamourous but meant to be clean and cheap for a few nights which is becoming rare in london!! If you tell me what you want to see/do I can suggest other areas.

Otherwise look at http://www.hostelworld.com/ if you want a different area or http://booking.com for hotels.

Doesn’t have to be in the center, just as close as possible :) We are fine with taking subway etc. just looking for optimum.

Thanks

Hey Alex, thanks for detailed info.

We don’t have a specific places to visit yet so it would be best if we could find accommodation as close as possible to “everything”. We are perfectly fine with a hostel or really anything that is clean and affordable.

I’ll be checking your suggestions in detail when I arrive home, thanks a lot!

No worries those two are both vey central zone 1. The first is slightly smarter area and probably a bit more upclass. the second is on Oxford street and soho so will be more hectic but right in the middle of shopping including round the corner from the flagship Apple store.

Obviously. I have never stayed in either but i work near the first and the prices in both are amazing for central London and if you could get one of the private dorms even better. You should be good with either but will skim through the others on there for you later too.

Feel free to post any questions

zone 3 or 4 is fine to stay in London. It’s not a city centre but it’s close enough with tube (about 15 -20 minutes) to get there. Prices are fine, but depends what you need: clubbing or sightseeing :)

cheers and have fun.

ps. If you need help don’t hesitate to drop me line
