Hi there,

I am starting my own marketplace (not comptetitor of Envato marketplaces though :) ). I was wondering if the licensing model of Envato relies on some bigger official models such as Creative Commons or Copyrights or if Envato imaginated itself its licensing model?

What I mean is that, can I just “make up” my own licensing model on my marketplace for it to be legit or should rely on something bigger and official to validate it?

Thank you!

I would recommend you hire a copyright lawyer, so that you are getting a professional to legally create your terms and conditions correctly. Envato have their own on staff, and alter the terms and conditions periodically to keep them up to date and to cover new instances that occur.
