All this dropping the euro is simply scaremongering. Assume that the worst did happen and the Euro as a currency was abolished and countries like Spain reverted back to the Peseta. It’s not the end of the world. Even countries like Greece with a huge debt won’t suddenly turn into a third-world country because it can’t afford to pay its bills.
It’s been something like 12 years now with the Euro, Germany wanting out would harm their economy far more than added debt. Is there a bigger sign of instability than running away from a problem and markets aren’t the greatest fans of instability.

Moved it to Off-topic.![]()
Is there more than one off-topic section? When you had moved it this, it was here rather than where I had expected it to be: here – do they belong to different marketplaces? Wouldn’t it make sense to merge all off-topic sections? Bit odd.
EDIT : Turns out you moved it to 3DO’s off-topic section (naturaly, as you were posting from 3DO) while I looked in that of ActiveDen. I feel they should be merged. At the moment we have 7 inactive off-topic sections. One global section might be more active and thus more fun.
Sorry for the ironic offtopicness of this post

The multiple forums for different marketplaces are kinda confusing. For me looking at the forums on graphic river, this thread just disappeared. I thought it had been removed because of politics. So maybe other times threads have disappeared before, they weren’t actually deleted but moved somewhere hidden!

I think I read a bit of commentary a while back that the euro ending would have a large element of going into unknown / uncharted territory. And nothing’s more scary than the unknown.

Totally confusing indeed, perhaps this is something worth looking at for further forum upgrades. Off-topic per say is quite a fitting category, and it means the same no matter the main-forum, so having it segmented across the marketplaces doesn’t really make sense.
Furthermore, moderators being limited to certain areas of the forums, rather than having global access, does add to the confusion.
Anyway, this is where the thread should have been, under All Marketplaces, for maximum exposure and dialogue possibility… and it should only be moved to off-topic once the topic has expired and nothing more can be added, or a few weeks/months passed, which ever comes first.
That being said, let’s not stray away from the actual discussion
So, Euro, will it blend?

Will it blend in photoshop? I should think a euro note would blend quite well, they’ve got some nice colours….

I really started this thread to know the implications on the marketplaces and the Web 2.0 economy. Actually, I’d be in an advantage if the Euro fall, the USD exchange rates will improve with my local currency

Not always more valuable though – the fall of the euro would have some nasty effects on import/export of various goods that would skyrocket in price and scarcity. I strongly doubt the results are overseeable as of yet.
I honestly hope Euro will fall. Yet, there are some countries that desperately want to spend their own money rescuing Euro, paying other countries debts just to play their puppet part in the theater called EU. So ultimately – who knows?
