Can you share some experiences about working exclusive and non-exclusive in stock audio business? Is it worth to go non-exclusive, work on lots of sites… Maybe you tried this and moved back to exclusive seller? I am asking because it seems, that audiojungle really sells a lot, but it’s very “rock-style, motivational tracks oriented”

Thanks P I

Hey PI,

Short answer is (in my opinion and experience) that non-exclusive is worth it from a strict revenue perspective, but maybe not from a sanity and focus perspective. It really depends on what your goals are and where you want to spend your time.

There’s been a lot of discussion on this – here’s a search result on exclusive vs. non-exclusive.

I agree with jhunger. It is worth it in terms of earnings. But a lot of time will be spent on keywords and uploading…

I have an exclusive AJ account as well as an un-exclusive account. I only sell my un-exclusive tracks on one other website outside AJ so with the 3 revenue streams it works well for me. Its a little bit more work but overall I think its pretty easy to maintain and keep an eye on them all.

I’m very curious to know what is your basis behind which songs you choose to be exclusive vs. non-exclusive? Does it have to do with the song itself (genre, length, etc.) or is there an alternative need for certain songs to be non-exclusive? Thanks for sharing ;)

It seems many authors are going for the dual-portfolio approach to manage the exclusivity. Can you move a track from an exclusive portfolio to your non-exclusive, say if someone contacted you about licensing it individually for a big project?

I dont have a set system. Most of my music goes on this profile but sometimes I decide to make a track un-exclusive and sell it elsewhere as well simply to spread the tracks around to generate more income. My un-exclusive music is in the same style to what i do on here. I just stick to what im good at and what works. So its a random-ish decision as to which tracks become un-exclusive.
