There are many essential things missing / misleading in google. We are forced to live with garbaged internet due to google without proper utilization of technology and human values. Sadly this is why competition is needed.
Btw, in this example google’s engine couldn’t care the difference between “hello kitty” and hello. Popularity inclination is killing the information.

Hahahahaha I think this speaks more to the state of our society than the quality of Google’s algorithms.

Yea, LOL! Same applies for Bing: http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=hello&go=&qs=n&form=QBIR&pq=hello&sc=8-4&sp=-1 (and to pretty much all of the other Search Engines) and that’s because all those images with hello kitty cats have the alt attribute set to “hello”, “hello cat”, “hello kitties”, etc. After all a search engine is not human, you can still filter out those hello kitties images using advanced filters.
