Hello, I am Pete (a.k.a. ‘paj’ or ‘johnsyweb‘) and I am now a developer here at Envato. I’ve been writing software since my parents bought me a Commodore C16 at the tender age of 7 and have been hooked ever since.
One of the biggest things that struck me during Envato’s rigorous recruitment process was an enormous sense of community and I was therefore delighted when I was invited to join the community as an employee. As well as being excited to join such an excellent team of developers, I’m looking forward to being a part of the wider Envato community.
Here in the Melbourne office there is a constant drive to deliver what we call “Community Wins”: I think this is pretty awesome. I’ve not worked anywhere before that has such a focus included in every development iteration. As the new developer in the office I have a lot to learn from me colleagues about how I can continuously deliver enhancements and new features to Envato’s authors and our buyers but I’ve also got lots to learn from all who contribute to these forums! The forums are brimming with enthusiastic suggestions for improvement and that is one of the things that makes me leap out of bed in the morning and dash to my iMac to get on with delivering the features that help you earn and learn online!
And now I must get back to it…
Nice to meet you Pete! Good luck with the new job! We all hope you develop awesome new features in the marketplace! Cheers!
