Hi everyone

A small number of you may have been experiencing intermittent outages over the past hour. We’re currently under a DDOS attack, which means it’s quite difficult to tell which people are the good guys! We’re successfully filtering a significant amount of the attack, but there are a some ‘false positives’ that are making it tough for some of you to hit the site. I appreciate your patience as I work hard with our hosting provider to get this sorted out as soon as possible!

Update 6:49am AEST – The attack has subsided, everything should be returning to normal.

Cheers

David

Get on a content delivery network like Akamai or Cloudflare. You won’t have to worry about DDOS attacks at all since they wouldn’t be able to even get to your site. They will be diverted by the CDN who will take the pounding for you, not to mention CDN’s help your site loading time increase no matter where someone is in the world because the CDN makes sure they place each individual site browser on the closest server to their home as possible for best load results.

They are on a cdn. It would be rather tricky / expensive to push all remaining dynamic content through one of those providers though..

yeah they charge fees like cell phones used to charge minutes overage now. If you find yourself in a horrible DDOS attack with hundreds of zombies and massive bandwidth use then you could be getting one of those bills that those people who watch football games on their cell phones while on cruises get.

A DDOS attack turns up just as I send out an affiliate email to my list for the Envato Bundle.

Brilliant. I hope the effort is not wasted. haha!
