digitalscience, certainly! They write it had about 3m in diameter, it doesn’t seem like very big piece… what if it was 30m-thing?
haha indeed… 10 times more destruction… anything that actually hits the ground would be like a nuclear bomb going off.
In 1908 in Siberia, a 50m in diameter asteroid hit, and scorched and flattened trees in a 8km radius with an explosion of 10 mega tons of energy… people were knocked off their feet from distances up to 60km.

That’s really scary! I hope everyone’s okay. On a lighter note, the VH authors now have a great theme for new items

Indeed! The thing about the shots of the meteorite, is they do look just like visual effects from movies. It is scary though, we are pretty much defenceless. We still have Bruce Willis, but he ain’t getting any younger!

Art-of-Sound saidI don’t think so. Scientists calculates the speed of the object. It is over 30 km per second. Mankind didn’t invent such machines that moves so fast.
I spoke with friends in Chelyabinsk, they told me it was rather a military test than a meteorite.

Interestingly, there was this object in military radar? Why is no one to catch him, even is not worried about it … National governments are spending a lot of money on armaments, and just took it and meteorite crashed into the ground, and 500 injured … but very nice video, as in AE project

President: We didn’t see this thing coming?
Dan: Well, our object collison budget’s a million dollars. That allows us to track about 3% of the sky, and beg’n your pardon sir, but it’s a big-ass sky.

Then the question that people are divided on this sinful earth, why the army, weapons, satellites, if everything is so simple, one meteorite (is 500 meters in diameter) – bang! and all ....
