I’m extremely excited about the new marketplace, and would like to prepare some 3D files before it goes online.
Can anyone tell me what are the formats we’ll be asked to submit?
Is it 3DS/MAX stuff, or something else?
Also, what would be expected of us to create?

The 3D Marketplace are official and will launch soon. No date yet though but Envato is hoping to get it up and running quite soon. http://psd.tutsplus.com/articles/news/our-biggest-launch-of-the-year/
About the files, I have no idea what kind of files that will be accepted for sale on it.

You can take a look at other 3d marketplace out there and you should get an idea of what’s available. Definitely cars and furniture.

Is this official? I’ve only heard rumours about a 3d marketplace.not only 3d marketplace but also two other marketplaces. Now for the other two its only speculation but I thought about it and I think one will definitely be for selling and buying stock photos.
I think stocko photos is one, and next will be PHP and JS files

If they know whats good for them, .blend files also 
BTW I bet one of the new marketplaces will be for stock-photography. I can’t imangine that the third is though …
