I love this thread! Adrian, I want to see pictures of the construction process please.
SportTipsWorld saidAch you lucky bugger you live in a land with lots of sunshine (and man-sized spiders :S) whereas we are in the cold and damp UK. Before the heaters went in we were working in winter coats and hats. Ever tried operating a small laptop mouse with skiing gloves on?
We decided against carpet for purely that reason – cleaning!
We built two sheds, both extra high, because they were to be used for offices, higher ceilings easier to manage heat.Prior to ac being fitted, we recorded temps internally, in bare shed, in excess of fifty degrees c.
I come from uk tho , so all to aware of crappy winters. My last place in uk, i whacked underfloor heating in.
I’m loving the responses to this thread so far. Thanks guys!
@Stylius I’ll definitely post photos of each stage of construction.
@Kops I love the photos of your new home office. Enjoy it! I’d love to post those photos in a Featured Workspace post on Envato Notes. What do you think?
@Ste Thanks for all your advice. We’re almost neighbours! Do you have any photos of your home office that would be appropriate for Envato Notes (including construction photos if possible)? Our Featured Workspace posts have focused on what’s on peoples’ desks, but it would be fun to do a few posts that are complete office buildings.
Thanks again. I’m off to bed, and really looking forward to see what happens to this thread while I’m asleep.
Love the pictures of construction process. Good job!
My suggestion is that you install speakers into wall. One stereo system integrated into room… I think that would be cool.
And a lot of light…
adriantry saidYes. polished cement/concrete floor. Without seams. And on the top acrylate layer.
3. The floors will be cement. Any suggestions for an effective but inexpensive floor covering?
Just make sure the temperature is warm enough for the cement/concrete. Probably better to wait until spring.
This looks awesome please keep us updated
kops saidThe best way to get them to me is to use this form: http://www.formstack.com/forms/envato-envato_notes__community_submissions
Sounds fun! Will have some better photos of the interior once the office is decorated properly – where to send?
