Hi SkyProductions,

In the ‘Earnings’ area look for the referral links – obviously it’s not the most accurate way of measuring interest, but it gives you a good indication if your promotional work is generating enough interest to make people click a link.

If you want the number of times an item has been viewed, then yes, you’ll need to do what you’re saying in the Envato Analytics area (I really hope the analytics is built upon, I see it having a lot of potential)...

It means that no one has click on a like that has your reference in the link (.e.g with ?SkyProductions at the end of the url).

Sky – with all of the links to your items and even your profile page, you should be appending ’?ref=SkyProductions’ in order to benefit from the referral scheme here on AJ. I hear very few people make money from referring people, but it’s a useful statistic in some regards in terms of gauging interest in your promotional work.

Remember that if the URL has a ’?’ in it already, then I believe you need to use an ampersand ie ‘&ref=SkyProductions’ otherwise it won’t work.

Hey Taco…here is what Scott said in another thread I just posted…

“All referral codes WITHIN the marketplaces do not work. It’s purposely set up that way to prevent abuse. All referral codes used EXTERNALLY (e.g. YouTube, your own site/blog, in an e-mail signature) – they will all work.”

So posting a referral code anywhere in AJ is useless. It has to be from outside the site…like youtube for instance.

.... Ah, I found the answer to my question…. They are from external sources! The title “referrals” gave it away

Guys,

One day you will learn there is no better or worst season / month / week / day of week about the sales. There is no rule.

Even If I publish my sales per month it wan’t give you clear indication what’s going on as I’ve got some other envato market items.

Don’t worry – keep up good work.

Btw. this month for me personally looks like will be the best in 4 years.

You are correct rtofvnt that there is no rules, and congrats on the best month :) However this was a poll asking over 200 royalty free composers what their best month is.

So while it is different for everyone, as far as overall sales go… May is the worst.
