For the past 4 months or so, I have been working on a tool for generating fonts out of icons. This tool allows you to select a number of icons, and then you can assign these icons to different letters. The resulting font will therefore be small and efficient for web embedding using the @font-face rule.

See a live demo

You can also download a free version of this tool if you go to the Downloads page.

I’m still trying to find the best method for selling the full version. Do you think it fits any of envatos marketplaces or categories? And how much do you think it should cost?

Any thoughts or suggestions is appreciated :)

By the way, if you care, that promotional web site that I’ve made for this product is responsive, and it has a high google page speed of 94 :P

You mean in what browsers you can use the generated font? @font-face font embedding is supported in even IE6 . http://caniuse.com/#search=font-face

However, before and after pseudo elements are not supported in IE6 and IE7 . So depending on the way you use your web font, browser support for it varies.

Haha! What are the chances to find the guy that made IcoMoon here on ThemeForest? Great job! I really like it! However I have a question. Can I use the free icons in templates here on ThemeForest? I plan to purchase the full version, but right now, being relatively new here, I need a way to get started.

I would really want to know how to you make these fonts, I’ve been trying to generate my own fonts with your site and it’s awesome, but I want to be able to do my own fonts with custom shapes. I would appreciate some indication here. Thanks.

You can upload your own shapes to the same app in .svg format. You can pretty much do anything with it.
